“They Rejected My Knowledge for My English – But One Company Believed in Me”
Is My Decision Right or Wrong?
Life has never been easy.
Back when I was in college, I used to dream big — I believed that as soon as I graduated, I’d land a great job in a well-known company and start earning a decent income. I thought my good grades would open big doors for me.
But reality hit hard.
Even though I graduated with distinction, it took me almost six months to find a job. I eventually joined Lenskart as a Sales Associate. While I worked there, friends, relatives, and even some close ones started saying things like, “You studied so much, just to end up in sales? Why don’t you go for a corporate job?”
Those words cut deep.
After working there for seven months, I decided to go for my post-graduation. I dedicated two full years to studying, hoping this would change my career path.
When I completed my post-grad, companies did call me for interviews based on my profile. But time and again, I got rejected — not because I lacked knowledge, but because my English communication wasn’t strong.
The constant rejections broke me from the inside.
