What’s the best food in the world?
This was the topic I received during a "Pick and Speak" competition in 12th grade. I spoke for over ten minutes, sharing my heart and thoughts, and today, I want to share that with you as a short story, dedicated to someone very special. You’ll know exactly who that person is as you read on.
Biryani, Khushka, Fried Rice, Vegetable Pulao, Poha, Paratha—they are all tasty dishes. And while any food that’s good for our health is indeed beneficial, for me, the best food is the one that’s made by my mother.
When my mother cooks for me, she doesn’t just add the usual ingredients like onions, tomatoes, water, salt, and spices. What she adds, however, is something that no one else can offer—her love. That’s what truly makes the meal special.
A restaurant chef may cook to earn money, but a mother’s food is prepared with a different purpose—her intention is to nourish her child’s body and soul. She doesn’t need to make a profit; she cooks for love, care, and nourishment.
